Gavin’s Contact Page Updated

Thank you to everyone for making us aware that there were issues with the contact page form for Gavin.

We have now updated the page.

To download the newest version of the editor:

Go to our web site -

  • click on the $200-$400 sites
  • click on Gavin select Try
  • overwrite your current editor

What you need to do so that your site reflects the changes we have made:

1. Download the new editor.

2. Install the new version — when you open your editor it should say Gavin version 3.0.10. NOTE CHECK to see if it shows trail version. If it does reinstall your licence code.

3. Open your site.

4. Save your site — this will update your site files.

5. Reload the site files on your server.  Best practice is to delete the old files first, to make sure the changes take!

6. Files to update:

  • xml folder
  • .swf files
  • mail.php
  • .fpc file
  • flashobject.js

You do not need to reload your images, unless you have made changes to them, and then you would need to load the folders with changes.

As always, let us know if you have

Hi, couple of things. In your instructions above could you add that you need to put your licence code back in?
My website spent a day online saying trial version before I noticed!!!

Also, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE could you put a box for email address in the contact page and have the email come from this?

Thanks for a great website .

Please, Is there anyway possible that Gavin’s contact form could be like all the rest of your website templates? Many thanks for getting the labels out of the email text, but users now find it quite disconcerting that the labels vanish when they click on, or tab to the field. (Hmmm, what is it I was supposed to put on this line?)

I have got nothing but rave reviews from visitors for Gavin with the only exception being the contact form. I don’t feel that a contact form needs to be a challenge or radically different from what web users are used to seeing.

    Many thanks,
    Carey
