Tech Tuesday

This week I am going to talk about some of our older templates.  All of our templates except for Tristan, Gavin and Debra are fixed screen templates.  What this means is that when you deisgn your site you need to design it so that everything you see will fit into a screen area of roughly 1024×768.  If you design your site using a wide screen monitor you might end up with a site that looks like this.

While it may appear you are not using the space to the right of the menu bar, the editor is not designed to take the menu out that direction.  The only solution at this point is to change the menu so that it fits.  By reducing the number of menu items and changing the titles on others, the spaces becomes maximized.

This is true of both the menu bar and the legal statement area, both are fixed areas and need to be designed so that they fit on a screen with the resolution of 1024×768.
