Tech Tuesday

What a busy time of year this is.  With the holidays fast approaching, and winter weather every where, we are all busy and want to find things that will help us save time!

This week I am posting a basic guide for what files need to be udpated for each time you make changes to your site.  The best practice when updating your site is to always delete the file from your server and then realod them from your local drive.

What files you need to update will depend upon what changes you have made to your site.

The best practice is to always delete the changed files from your server and reload them from your local drive.

Changed:                                     Update:
Text page wording                                  XML folder
Text page images                                   XML folder AND text_page images folder
Gallery                                                  XML folder and the Gallery title you either added or changed.
Client Proofing                                       XML folder and the Client Proofing Galleries.
Changes to shopping cart                      XML folder and the PDF folder
Changed email addres                           XML folder and mail.php file
Changed versions of editor                    XML folder AND the .swf files and the .fpc file

This will hopefully save you some time and make things easier for you when updating your web sites!
